Oppo X 2021 (Concept Smartphone)
The Oppo X 2021 is the company’s latest concept smartphone and is a testament to its R&D in the flexible display and structural stacking. It features Oppo’s three proprietary technologies. These include a roll motor powertrain, a 2-in-1 plate, and a self-developed Warp Track (high-strength) screen laminate. All of these three technologies help in building a continuous variable OLED display on the Oppo X 2021.
Being a rollable display, the display on the smartphone measures in at 6.7-inches and extends up to 7.4-inches — aiming to offer the experience of a phone and tablet experience in one by switching the form factor. Oppo says the powertrain on the Oppo X 2021 features a dual-motor setup that allows for a smooth extension of the display. Moreover, it also suggests that, unlike some of the foldable smartphones out there, the Oppo X 2021 does not have a crease/fold, which allows for a more seamless viewing experience.
The phone comprises a 2-in-1 plate body, which has two parts that rollout simultaneously to offer a smooth rolling experience and add to the structural strength. To keep the display protected and avoid any damage during the rolling process, the smartphone uses Oppo’s proprietary Warp Track high-strength screen laminate that claims to offer better strength to the display.
Oppo AR Glass 2021
The all-new (second-gen) Oppo Glass 2021 features a “split-design” form factor. Oppo says the new design allows for a better and comfortable fit compared to the previous generation. In addition, it also suggests designing a replaceable and flexible nasal support to offer a better fit to a majority of users. As for performance, the new AR Glass boasts a 40% improvement in both CPU and GPU performance. It uses what Oppo refers to as “Birdbath optical solution” to offer increased uniform brightness with a consistent viewing experience.
Oppo AR Glass 2021 includes fisheye-style cameras, along with one RGB and one ToF sensor, which provide better local mapping and 3D localization at low latency.
Oppo CybeReal
Along with the two products, Oppo also announced the CybeReal application at the Inno Day 2020. The AR application is powered by real-time, spatial calculation technology that brings high-precision localization and scene recognition using GPS and network information.
